Objectives and Scope of the Assignment

The primary objective of this assignment is to: · Enhance the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) for solar PV minigrids for the environmentally sound collection, storage, and disposal of electronic and electrical waste, including batteries; and · Review the environmental eligibility criteria for REF Calls for Proposals for including take-back clause for battery and other electronic wastes

Consultant Competencies

The required qualifications and experience of the consultant are as follows: · An advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field · At least 10 years of relevant work experience across environmental management, and waste storage and disposal, preferably electronic waste management. · Experience in working with the UN, and UNDP in particular, international organizations, and similar agencies would be an advantage · Clear understanding of - and skills for designing environmental management plans · Previous experience in conducting similar assignments.

Submission of First draft of ESMP and updated eligibility criteria for Calls for Proposals

The consultant shall present the project deliverables in a session with the PMU
